Registration, preparation of publications, submission

Files to send:

Conference participants are requested to send in electronic form to the address geosciences2026@bgd.bg an archive file with the participant’s name (for example, Ivanov_I.zip), containing:

(1) a completed registration form with the participant’s name, such as Ivanov_I_Reg_Form_EN_2026.docx or Ivanov_I_Reg_Form_BG_2026.docx (registration forms Reg_Form_BG_2026.docx or Reg_Form_EN_2026.docx can be downloaded here).

(2) files of the text, table(s) and figure(s) of the publication form chosen by the authors (scientific report or abstract) with the participant’s name (for example, Ivanov_I_text.doc; Ivanov_I_Table.doc; Ivanov_I_Fig.tiff or Ivanov_I_Fig.jpg; or Ivanov_I_abstract.doc).

The submitted registration form and the participant’s publication will receive the same identification number.

Publications:

By decision of the BGS Governing Board of 05.03.2026, two main forms of publication of materials from the scientific conferences GEOSCIENCES are introduced: (1) scientific communications and (2) abstracts, which are formed using 4 types of templates, which can be found on the conference website:

Template_GeoSci_2026_ScCommun_BG.doc – for scientific communications in Bulgarian;

Template_GeoSci_2026_ScCommun_EN.doc – for scientific communications in English;

Template_GeoSci_2026_Abstract_BG.doc – for abstracts in Bulgarian;

Template_GeoSci_2026_Abstract_EN.doc – for abstracts in English.

The following rule is observed: for each oral report, the publication format can be a scientific communication or an abstract, and for a poster report – only an abstract. The preferred form of publication (scientific communication or abstract) is indicated by the author in the registration form. The final decision to redirect reports to oral or poster presentations will be made by the Organizing Committee during the final preparation of the Conference Program, while maintaining the form of publication chosen by the authors.

The conference materials will be published in the “Review of the Bulgarian Geological Society” after double peer review and a pre-paid participation fee.

One registration fee covers only one presentation (oral or poster) and, respectively, one scientific communication or one abstract.

The requirements for preparation of scientific communications and abstracts are specified in the relevant templates.

Scientific communications are the main form of publishing conference materials. The length of a publication is at least 4 full pages within the format of the template. Submissions representing new, original research and meeting the publication requirements specified in the template will be accepted for consideration. Publication of review articles is only possible upon invitation from the Organizing Committee of the GEOSCIENCES Conference (usually invited plenary papers) or upon proposal from the Editorial Board of the Review of the Bulgarian Geological Society.

The publication of abstracts (up to 1 page) is a second form of publishing conference materials and applies to 3 main cases: (1) the authors prefer to present brief information about the research in the form of an abstract, and to publish the expanded form of the research at a later stage – in subsequent issues of the “Review of the Bulgarian Geological Society”; (2) the proposed materials are not original research, but treat important and debatable problems for the geology of the country, the region and the world; (3) the authors publish information materials about projects, excursions, published books and other novelties.

Presentations:

It is recommended that if the report is presented in Bulgarian, the Microsoft Power Point presentation be in English. The recommended size of poster reports is 70 x 100 cm).
